Faith 90.5 - KDNI is a broadcast station from Duluth, Minnesota, United States, playing Christian, College. alidation from a father should have been. I started shutting down to him before I was even 10 yrs old. As I became a young person in teens I quit talking to him or even looking at him. I tried to cut him out of my awareness and survive till I could get away from him. He had 10 offspring (7 boys, 3 girls) and I was his least favored. I am actually proud of that fact. I found him mean spirited, negative, obscessive and volitile. Now days it would be called bi-polar. He was verbally, spiritually, emodtionally, abscessively abusive and at times, dangerously physically abusive. He knocked me out more than once with a bare fisted blow to the side of my head. He was a champion amatuer boxer. I lived in fear as I grew older. I thought this is what married life is and I swore at a very early age that I would never marry. The sad thing is that he came off as being intensly religious. We were forced to go to church every day of the week and sometimes 3 times on Sunday. Looking back I know I was suicidal in my teens. I am now in my 60's and a husband, father, grandfather, Veteran as well as a Christian man who has found a relationship with God and my Savior Jesus Christ. I have a religion but my relationship with God is first. Have spent my life being as unlike my biological (sire) as possible. I don't recognize that person as my father anymore. My Almighty Father in heaven is the only Father I recognize. I have learned that true Forgiveness is a daily struggle and not just a one time thing. One has to make the effort through prayer in the Holy Spirit and "put on" forgiveness. So in closing let me make this observation concerning my personal history. There is NOTHING I wish my biological HAD said to me but there is MUCH I wish he hadn't said to me or done to me.
